According to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll, 48% of Americans now say age is an important factor in determining their vote – up from 40% a few months ago.

I’m working on a new video for YouTube and it would be HUGE help if people could send in SOURCED McCain/Palin lies.
You can either post your examples here or email them to tipsATthingsyoungerthanmccainDOTcom with the word “Lies” in the subject line.
I’m happy to credit you at the end of the video if you like… just let me know.
Thanks!

They’re holding a Presidential Debate Watching party and they’re kicking it off @ 8:00 PM with a bunch of comedians and yours truly as their guest to talk about my book (“72 Things Younger Than John McCain”).
It’s good and free.

You would think that, as the victim of a push-poll in 2000 that some say cost McCain the nomination, he would be vehemently opposed to similar tactics being used against his opponent in 2008.
Well, you’d be wrong:

(By the way, Israel is younger than John McCain.)

John McCain is woefully out of touch. Is it because he is incredibly old? Maybe. Or maybe he’s choosing to completely ignore reality because that’s the only way he can distance himself from the failed policies of his party.
Case in point: apparently, the economy is humming along just fine…

A friend of a friend of a friend just told me that McCain was quoted as saying “I just learned that I’m older than the chocolate chip cookie.”
Needless to say, this has to get on the blog tout de suite – so I’ll pony up a copy of my book (along with my sincere gratitude) to the first person that can hunt down a link to the clip.
Thanks!

Become a poll worker and do your part to ensure that the election is conducted fairly.

If John McCain really wants to run on a platform of putting his Country above all else, then he needs to investigate alleged voting rights violations and make ensuring that no one who is entitled to vote is denied the right his number one priority.

Thanks to a little plug on the front page of the “Life” section, my book has rocketed to somewhere around 11,000 in the Amazon rankings (from deep in the six figures).
What a fantastic newspaper!
UPDATE: #9,681 as of 8:54 PM EST (I think this can get addicting.)

As the election is getting closer and I want to do whatever I can to keep the age issue top of mind with voters, I’m foregoing the few bucks on each product (that I was putting towards my bandwidth costs) and selling everything for just what CafePress charges me. Hope this helps.

Apparently, it’s the fault of the liberal and now sexist media that Sarah Palin:
- is a woman
- was barely vetted
- is inexperienced
- is under an ethics investigation
- isn’t quite sure what the V.P. does
- has a pregnant daughter
This ticket is a sinking ship and they’re resorting to the one thing that they’ve been able to rely on for years… the mobilizing myth that the media is liberal and out to get them.
Howard Dean, David Plouffe, David Axelrod, Barack… if you’re reading this (and come on, I know you are. I mean, really, what else do you have to do?), I’m begging: don’t let it happen. Don’t pull a Kerry or a Dukakis and roll over and play dead. Go to the window, open it, stick your heads out and, well, you know the rest.
UPDATE: Speaking of sexism, here’s a quote that I love. It’s directed at Hillary Clinton.
“She does herself a disservice to even mention it, really. When I hear a statement like that coming from a woman candidate with any kind of perceived whine about that excess criticism, or maybe a sharper microscope put on her, I think, ‘Man, that doesn’t do us any good, women in politics, or women in general, trying to progress this country.’ I don’t think it bodes well for her.”
Can you guess who uttered this wonderful bit of hypocrisy? You guessed it, Sarah Palin.
How these people sleep at night is truly beyond my comprehension.

I’m going to be on a Denver radio show (850 KOA-AM) called “After Midnight with Rick Barber” for an entire hour – from 3:00 to 4:00 AM Eastern Thursday morning (which I guess is 1:00 – 2:00 AM Mountain).
If you’re in that part of the country, tune in… if for no other reason than to see whether my alarm clock worked and I was indeed able to get up at such an ungodly hour.

Much like the mail at the post office, the Sarah Palin information is coming in at a relentless and dizzying pace. Here’s some of what we know so far:
She doesn’t believe in global warming, thinks creationism should be taught in schools, has been Governor for a year, is currently involved in a scandal, is violently anti-choice, doesn’t support equal work for equal pay, doesn’t know what the VP does, and her foreign policy experience is summed up by the fact that Alaska is close to Russia.
(By the way, I apologize if I’ve been straying away from the central theme of this blog more and more lately… with all that’s going on and the election fast approaching, I just kinda can’t help myself! But trust me, I still obsess about his oldness constantly and will get back to business as usual tomorrow.)
