I had to check. How old was Mr. Hand when FT@RH was made?

Ray Walston was born in 1914, making him around 67 y/o when he played Mr. Hand. Wow. He didn’t look it. That makes him much older then John McCain.

Then again, Ray Walston is dead now.

Pizza was around in certain big cities in the U.S. before WWII, but it wasn’t nationwide in places like Kansas (you know,where decent, hard working, white people live.)Returning GI’s who’d served in Italy created a demand nationwide.

Yeah,it was around, but it wasn’t part of mainstream American fast food until after WWII.

Modern pizza has been attributed to baker Raffaele Esposito of Naples. In 1889, Esposito who owned a restaurant called the Pizzeria di Pietro baked what he called “pizza” especially for the visit of Italian King Umberto I and Queen Margherita.

However, John McCain was already 21 years old when Pizza Hut was founded…..

Pizza was invented in Brooklyn. By an Italian immigrant, but still. It’s American.

Speaking of Brooklyn — McCain is also significantly older than the Los Angeles Dodgers (moved from Brooklyn in mid-50s). Or the Los Angeles Lakers. Even the Minnesota Lakers. Or the NBA. Or its predecessor leagues. Or any professional basketball at all.

Love the website, but Pizza had been around in NYC long before WWII. Delivery? Dunno about that.

Pizza wasn’t a result of experience with Pizza in Italy during WWII. It was a result of Italian immigration long before that.
