In light of her most recent idiotic comment (”the Vice President controls the Senate”), and on the suggestion of Nigel and countless others, I ask everyone to sign this petition demanding that Sarah Palin take the Immigration and Naturalization Test to see if she possesses, at bare minimum, the same knowledge about the United States that we ask of our immigrants.

I’m all with you on Sarah Palin’s incompetence, but to be fair, I don’t think most American citizens could do that. Not even Obama. And even if she could, it doesn’t really show her lack of intelligence the way that almost every other fact about her does….

2,
Palin is running for VP. The knowledged standard for the structure and working of government is higher for her than most american citizens.
The test isn’t that hard, but based on her comments in the last 2 months she would flunk it.

Jane,
Obama teaches constitutional law.
I think he’d do OK.
I think McCain would do OK too, frankly.
I think Sarah would fail it horribly if it was plopped down in front of her without warning and study time, and that’s precisely what bothers me.
I don’t even mind that she didn’t know what the VP does, back before she was selected.
But SHE’S THE V-P NOMINEE NOW! Take an hour or two from your busy schedule of avoiding the press and read the damn Constitution. If you can’t stay awake through the whole thing, at least read the parts that describe the job that you seek.
And if, God forbid, someone asks you a question you don’t know (CharleeE) then say “I don’t exactly know, but I can find out.” Don’t pull something from your hindside and pass it off as truth.
Oh, and FWIW — I took the test, and missed two. (Guessed correctly on two others)
I would be embarrassed to run for VP with my current understanding of constitutional law, but I could study and learn if I was nominated for that office.

Could we get her to pass a Turing test first and then move onto tests real people take?

all,
i had to take the petition offline - i’m not sure but i think it’s the reason the site has been unbearably slow for the past couple of days.

On a scale of degree of lies, Obama is a professional socialpath lier. Politics aside, Obama lied about getting public campaign financing–this is just the beginning. No one knows where he gets at least 1/3 of his money from, probably from people who deal with drugs. Also, he used his childhood history as a big promoting factor, whereas he didn’t even visit his mother until after she died of cancer. He has never visited his aunt on his father’s side. Now he made a show to have visited his grandmother for less than a day.
If you watched Charlie Rose and the commentator David (I can’t recall the last name), the entire time Obama was in the Senate, he was never there for any meeting or decision making. He was never around. He does not have a good reputation in the Senate.
