Things younger than Republican Presidential candidate (oh, and did I forget to mention war hero?) John McCain

Am I being “age-ist”? Maybe. But maybe not. The world is a pretty complicated place right now and I’m thinking that it’s not such a great time to elect our oldest President ever. So sue me.

I’m like Larry Flynt. Only not paralyzed, obese, or repulsive.

“Political extremists attack bookstore owner, staff.”

  1. Know what else is younger than McCain? The McCain-Feingold Act. Which McCain doesn’t seem to understand:

  2. Oh dear God. I live in upstate South Carolina. It freaked me out when that link took me there. Go figure.

  3. It’s the final two weeks of the campaign. This is when all the really batshit insanity starts flying.

Comparisons to overhyped pornographers aside, I really have to hand it to you for taking on such a visible role in all this. However it all turns out, I owe you a beverage of your choice.

  6. First came the shouts, then the threats of violence, then the un-patriotic accusations, then questions about religion, then questions about bloodline, then came the violence….

  10. According to Wikipedia, astronauts drank it in the space, but didn’t took it to the Moon.

  11. What state is Seneca in? Does Booksmith have a website? I would like to order a copy of ’72 Things Younger than John McCain” from this store to show my support in the face of those loonies.

  12. 11: Seneca is in South Carolina. I’ve been there a few times(mainly to compete in drill competitions, but anyway).

People that do things like that make me ashamed to live in this area. It also makes me someone afraid to drive with an Obama sticker on my car or go to the movies with an Obama t-shirt on.

  13. I was so confused by the article at first, especially with your comparison to Larry Flynt. I thought it must be some kind of particular/racy bookstore. Wow! All that over a regular bookstore?! I wonder what it’s like over at Barnes and Noble.

  14. HA! Congrats for being controversial. I bought your book for my brother’s birthday, wrapped it in comics, and scribbled “To Ben-Piss off your conservative friends by putting this on your coffee table!”

  15. On a scale of degree of lies, Obama is a professional socialpath lier. Politics aside, Obama lied about getting public campaign financing–this is just the beginning. No one knows where he gets at least 1/3 of his money from, probably from people who deal with drugs. Also, he used his childhood history as a big promoting factor, whereas he didn’t even visit his mother until after she died of cancer. He has never visited his aunt on his father’s side. Now he made a show to have visited his grandmother for less than a day.
If you watched Charlie Rose and the commentator David (I can’t recall the last name), the entire time Obama was in the Senate, he was never there for any meeting or decision making. He was never around. He does not have a good reputation in the Senate.
