Am I being “age-ist”? Maybe. But maybe not. The world is a pretty complicated place right now and I’m thinking that it’s not such a great time to elect our oldest President ever. So sue me.

Actually, it’s Arabic, not Egyptian. You can have Egyptian dialects, and it causes some pronounciation to be different (ex. the j sound is more like a g sound in Egyptian dialects), but it’s not it’s own language. Just fyi.

That’ll probably help.

2,
wow… that’s pretty amazing!
i guess it’s not perfect though: here’s how it rendered the site name:
“objects smaller than McCain, the Republican candidate”
i wonder if sarah palin did the translation???

So I hope that you actually believe that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, because I just started a blog (inspired by your book) called “72 People Who Would Make a Better President Than John McCain” to make the election a little more light-hearted. Let me know if I’m stepping on toes here, it won’t actually get up and running for a couple of days.
Thanks

Hey Joe, how do I see who’s linked to me (if anyone has, hah)? Do I need to enable a trackback url or is it one of those widgets?

I attempted to read the whole thing, and now I really want to know what “But the violin remains head of state!?” was actually supposed to mean. Also “But the truth is that what salvation in the age of the cheek, which is the minimum.”

I forgot to mention, I was reading the Google translation, not the original site. I’m sure the Arabic version mkes a lot more sense, but sadly, I can’t read it!

7,
i use wordpress for this blog and it shows me a list of who links to me right there on the ‘dashboard’ (the page i see when i log in to the administrative section). i assume that there’s similar functionality with blogspot and the others, but i can’t say for sure.

Hi there :)))
i was just going to tell u about our blog when i found out that u already knew about it
ur blog and ur way of opposing the election of mccain to be the nest president has inspired us to make our blog trying here to find 81 things younger than the egyptian president mubarak who is 81 btw
“if” mccain won the elections -god forbid- he wouldn’t be the oldest president in the world cos ours is
:D:D
i’ll try to translate the post for u as it’s written in slang arabic not in traditional arabic..that’s why google translation won’t make any sense
best regards;

Hello
first I’m sorry we didnt ask u first to take the name, we didn’t think u’ll be intersted in our blog which was an inspiration by urs anyways here’s the transelation
” in the 4th of november us presedential elections are going to begin…. since all the media are following it … we find ourselves persuaded to follow it
amongest the things (the most thing) americans hate about maccian is his oooooooold age
Americans don;t trust maccain’s mental and physical ability to run a country because he’s 72
72 سنة وعاملين ازمة!!.. ماهو اللي مشفش يقول عدس
72 years and they r making a big deal lol… they know nothing:D
mobarak is 10 years older than him he was fainted befor in the pple’s assembly…. he suffered from trans ischimic attacks and he’s subjected to a stroke anytime soom…. adding to that his stuttering and inability to form a sentence which proves that he has already lost some of his brain functions
and dispite all the odds the man is still our president
aging itself ain’t a problem c’est la vie…. but to every age there’s a job… when u reach some age u can work as a consultant or anything but not a descision maker! a person who control lives musnt be that old…. that’s not right
actually pple in his age took what they want from life & are playing menopoly with thre grand childeren “which is by the way younger than him”…..
we didn’t realise the problem because we r used to him since 27 years…. we didn;t notice!
what’s funny about the issue is that he never confessed that he’s old ….. he never said i am an old dude even as a joke…. he always insists that he’s younger than the youngest more than Sabah herself who’s as old as him btw(sabah is a singer and actor she was married for 7 times the last was 24:)
ولو حد مننا اتكلم (و قل ادبه واتجرأ على الموضوع الشائك و المقدس ده) هيكون مصيره … زي مانتوا عارفين
he never used a stick despite his limbing and spondyolitis…… he never had a single white hair… his suit was never wrinckled
and if some one talked” dared , was stupid enough” and talked about this sacramented issue… u know what will be done to her/him
النهاردة 14 اكتوبر 2008
زي النهاردة من 27 سنة تولى مبارك الحكم
todat is 14 oct 2008…. the day he became a president… today will begain to write in this blog… to find 81 things younger than mobarak till the 4th of may his birthday and it will be our bd present
ur comments are importent
“this blog was inspired from the blog things younger than the rep. p j. maccain”
I hope my english was comprehended
best regards
