Things younger than Republican Presidential candidate (oh, and did I forget to mention war hero?) John McCain

Am I being “age-ist”? Maybe. But maybe not. The world is a pretty complicated place right now and I’m thinking that it’s not such a great time to elect our oldest President ever. So sue me.

Mensa International.

Mensa International is younger than John McCain.
not a mensa member
To become a member of Mensa, the international association of smarty-pants’, one must score “at the 98th percentile or higher of a standardized, supervised intelligence test”.

Presumably, people who achieve such a score know how to use a computer.

Or know the difference between Sunni and Shia.

Or have a strong working knowledge of economics.

Tell me again, McCain supporters, how a McCain presidency won’t be like a third term of Bush? I seem to have forgotten.

  1. What’s wrong with have Bush for a third term. I really don’t get the Bush bashing. So he’s not a good speech giver and has (not diagnosed yet) partial dyslexia, give the guy a break. It’s not like he’s soley responsible for all the mistakes he’s blamed for.

There are advisors and congress too…

People act like the President has all power and that he’s responsible for all this tragedy. The economy is run by the FED, not the President. If we the people wanted the war to end, it would be over in a day.

  2. There were plenty of protests against the war in Iraq since it begun, including the largest one in which not only Americans in different states but people living in other countries have shouted against the war. Regardless of who is actually in power and who backs them, giving little consideration to voices heard from all around the world is a great reason to be repudiated.

  5. I don’t think he knows the difference between “religious fanatics” and “secularists,” either. But then again, no one in the Bush administration and no one among their supporters do, either, what with the Saddam = Al Qaeda thing.

  6. Randy, you sincerely believe that “we the people” hold that much power? Check out the approval rating of Dubya and the Iraq war. “We the people” DO WANT THE WAR TO END. In addition, so does 80% of the Iraqi population, according to recent polls. The war is not in our hands. You’re correct- Bush is not the sole cause of our problems, but is it really mindless Bush-bashing when the less than 30 percent of Americans agree with his tactics?

  7. [...] inbox that make me dislike John McCain (more so than I already did simply for being a Republican). Three of them were in a single post on Things Younger Than McCain. Two of them will be covered later so I shall just mention the one. [...]

  8. As a member of American MENSA I have to admit I don’t have as strong working knowledge of economics as I should. But it’s still way better then mccains. And I do indeed know how to use a computer and the basic differnces between Sunni and Shia. I also know that theres a lot of desert, called the sovereign nation of Iran, between Iraq and Pakistan! Vote Terrible in ‘08? I’d be better then mccain that’s for certain.
