Smokey Bear is younger than John McCain.
Yep. It’s Kermit the frog and Casper the ghost but there ain’t no “the” in this bear’s name.
(Incidentally, Jerry Reed – who played alongside Burt Reynolds and fictional wife-beater Jackie Gleason in those godawful “Smokey and the Bandit” movies – died a few weeks ago. He was a hair younger than John McCain.)

I know that it doesn’t really important here, but Jackie Gleason’s character in The Honeymooners wasn’t a wifebeater. Although he did threaten to hit his wife, he never did so, and she was not at all afraid of him.
