Things younger than Republican Presidential candidate (oh, and did I forget to mention war hero?) John McCain

Am I being “age-ist”? Maybe. But maybe not. The world is a pretty complicated place right now and I’m thinking that it’s not such a great time to elect our oldest President ever. So sue me.

The CIA.

The CIA is younger than John McCain.

Want to have hours - or days - of fun? Read the “Family Jewels”, a 702 page collection of CIA misdeeds that was released last June (as a result of a Freedom of Information Act request filed 15 years earlier).

Some highlights include a document discussing tracking John Lennon on allegations of funding anti-war activists, a request by Watergate burglar and former CIA operative E. Howard Hunt for a lock picker, and the plan to poison the leader of the Congo. (The country. The dance is spelled with an “a”.)

  1. Not just that, but McCain is also older than the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) which was the forerunner to the CIA.

  5. I don’t know if you’ve posted about the Microwave…but the patent for microwave cooking was obtained by Raytheon in 1945 (according to Wikipaedia).

    That could be an amusing post.
