The Czech Republic is younger than John McCain.
While Czechoslovakia was founded around 1918 as “one of the successor states of Austria-Hungary”, The Czech Republic has only been in existence for about 15 years. It came into being as a result of Czechoslovakia’s split into two independent countries (Slovakia being the other).
It may seem like splitting hairs, but don’t you think that old man McAlzheimer’s shouldn’t be repeatedly getting this confused… especially since he’s running on a platform of foreign policy experience?
Well, whatever - it’s not like he doesn’t know the players in Iran.

Can you believe he said it twice in a week, four times in the past year and six times, that we know of, since 1994? George Bush even criticized the media for not reporting the McCain screw-up in 1999.

He focused on Russia and China in this clip.
Actually John McCain is older than both of those countries too! Yes, he’s older than the country which has the oldest civilisation on the planet.
Maybe he really wants them out of the G8, because he considers them ‘young whippersnappers’ and he doesn’t want them disturbing his afternoon naps with their boisterous tomfoolery after all those long lavish lunches.

It was a sad thing that happened in Myanmar, but what was the most upsetting was how the republicans called it Burma non-stop. It is one thing to say Myanmar, formerly Burma, but simply Burma is not right. Just proves the Republicans really don’t have much experience out in the world, like you said.

but calling it myanmar would support the bad leadership. i just read Burma in my 1891 encyclopedia britannica and it was unclear which would be better for the natives. don’t think i saw myanmar.
at least they didn’t call it czechoslovakia.

Who cares if he mistook the name of the Czech Republic for Czechoslovakia? At least he knows that Czechoslovakia was a country and that he meant the Czech Republic. I’ll bet that many of you would probably think that both Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic was not/is not even a country.
The Czech Republic is the de facto sucessor to Czechoslovakia, sharing the same flag, anthem, capital, people, language and practically the same Coat of Arms. Slovakia split from Czechoslovakia (even twice), not the other way around. Did you know that Czechoslovakia was the only democracy in eastern Europe before the Nazis and the Commies?
