Things younger than Republican Presidential candidate (oh, and did I forget to mention war hero?) John McCain

Am I being “age-ist”? Maybe. But maybe not. The world is a pretty complicated place right now and I’m thinking that it’s not such a great time to elect our oldest President ever. So sue me.

Frozen Waffles.

Frozen Waffles are younger than John McCain.

I came across the above image when doing a search for “frozen waffles” (which were first introduced in grocery stores in 1953) and, even though the ad shown isn’t for waffles - and “Aunt Jemima” is sadly older than John McCain - I’m posting it because I think it’s inspiring that the same country that can produce something as offensive (by modern day standards) as this is actually a hare’s breath away from electing an African-American president.

Anyway, where was I? Oh right, waffles. Waffling. Changing one’s position.

Take it away, YouTube…. (By the way, did you know that it’s Barack Obama’s fault that gas is $4.50 a gallon? Neither did I.)

Now…

and then…

We have got to keep holding this guy’s feet to the fire. Spread the word. And pass the syrup.

  3. “hare’s breath away”

While it’s true that bunnies don’t have much wind, it is also possible you might mean hair’s breadth, or the span of a hair follicle, as in “the width of a strand of hair away.” Very, very close.

  4. FYI: The National Cancer Institute is younger than John McCain.

Also, chances of developing cancer increase drastically with age. (i.e. almost an exponential curve). McCain has reached the third-to-highest age group in the NCI’s epidemiological studies, i.e. 70-74, and he is almost to the point in the chart where the incidence rates decline simply because populations of those ages are so small.

  5. Crude oil just had the largest drop IN HISTORY. Good thing we’re drilling.

    What’s that? We’re not drilling?

    Oh, well I guess…uh…umm…I’m a POW!

  6. You know, this television ad makes me think that you should change this whole blog from “Things Younger Than McCain” to “Things Smarter Than McCain.”

I know the Republicans have a particular talent for stirring up sh….err….pooh, but do they really think that people are going to believe that Barack Obama is to blame for high gas prices when we have an all-oil-men Executive Branch? This ad is so dumb, I imagine even FoxNews won’t come out and say “SEE!! It’s OBAMA’S FAULT!!!”

  7. Some people think that drilling whatever droplets you have in the ground there will help against the well-oiled machine of OPEC. It won’t. We in the West need to step away from oil, it’s that simple.
Now liberal “tree huggers” have been saying that since the early seventies but hey, we’re just a bunch of g**d*** liberals, right? So listen John McCain, who doesn’t even know how to open and read this page: we were right all along. Eat that.

  9. Wow, frozen waffles in 1953? Same year as Playboy? Hmm, read your “articles” over breakfast. Pass the syrup indeed, and if it so happens you need a little extra slippery stuff, well, the Log Cabin (or your favorite syrup brand) is right there. . .moving along.

I do agree with some of the commenters here. We do need to step away from oil pronto.

    Best, and keep on blogging.

  10. McCain’s campaign commercial is “no longer available.”

    Best. Campaign. Ever.
